Flex-AirTM - Simple

Fewer Parts to Handle Saves Time
The Flex-Air Ventilated System is designed to be simple in theory and simple in use. The rack has 5 basic components: the air handling unit, lower supply plenum, vertical supply/exhaust plenums, the cage and upper exhaust plenum.

Alternative Design makes disassembly and assembly simpler, too. The upper and lower plenums are easy to remove and replace. For example, the lower plenum has rollers so any technician can handle it with ease. The AHU is also quick and easy to move from the lower plenum for positive pressure to the upper plenum to provide negative containment.

Integral Seal In addition, the cages have very few parts. There is the Cage Bottom, the Wire Bar Lid and Cage Top. There are no clamps or labor consuming filters to replace. The integral seal is molded into the cage top and has been tested to 200 autoclavings.

Other Time Saving and Safety Advantages

Easy to Clean
With fewer parts, Flex-Air takes no time to clean. The large vertical plenums are easy to access at the top for power washing and drain quickly to dry. The upper and lower plenums have hokks so they hang on the frame for faster cleaning and drying.

Users have said that due to the more effective drying of the bedding, it takes less time to remove this bedding to clean the cages.

Greater Visibility
Like Gentle-Air, it’s easier and faster to inspect the animals with Flex-Air. That saves a lot of valuable labor time. There are no shelves, filter tops or canopies to obstruct the light. Card holders are conveniently located to provide a clear view inside the cages. Higher bottom row and lower top row make inspecting easier, too.

In addition, Flex-Air cages come in either a light amber or clear UdelRpolysulfone for fast, easy viewing inside cages.
