The heart of the MACS™ system is the Universal Vertical Plenum or cage stack. The standard cage stack is 10 mouse cages high. Each cage stack has a supply plenum side and an exhaust plenum. The cage brackets are attached to the vertical stack and fold up for easy moving and storage.
There is also a universal vertical cage stack for rat cages. The standard for it is 6 cages high.
Both the standard mouse and standard rat cage stacks are the same height and, are therefore, interchangeable on several MACS frames. You can go from mouse cages to rat cages and back as you may need based on cages using water bottles.
