Mechanical Design Engineer

Alternative Design Manufacturing & Supply, a growing metal fabrication company located in Siloam Springs, AR since 1987, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team!  The specific position plays a key role in fulfilling various duties and responsibilities. They are to work closely with the engineering manager to create a comprehensive action plan concerning each project’s design resources, material, and timeframes. The primary job is to perform product design duties in planning and designing fabricated equipment, machines, and tooling; create drawings for use by production; work with customers, vendors, and co-workers in various departments to deliver well-designed products on time; and oversee manufacturing, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Knowledge of basic electrical concepts is strongly preferred.

Experience: This is an entry-level position. Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and general tools is preferred. Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting is preferred.

Computer Skills: 3+ years’ experience with any 3D modeling (CAD) software, Solid Edge preferred. Sheet metal experience is strongly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software and ERP/workflow management software is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel).
