TIG Welder

Alternative Design Manufacturing, a growing metal fabrication company located in Siloam Springs, AR since 1987, is seeking experienced TIG Welders to join our team!  

The specific position will perform all types of welds on parts/materials. Duties include studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specs to determine the type of welding; preparing parts for welding by cleaning, inspecting, aligning, etc.; selecting proper settings on machines; starting and operating manual/automatic procedures; observing for malfunctions, making adjustments, checking for completeness, assuring quality control/inspections, follow safety precautions, confer with supervisors in case of problems. Must be able to process paperwork, move 50 lbs, maneuver up ladders and steps as required, and tolerate fumes, dust, heat, and noise.

Preferred Applicants need strong mechanical skills and be familiar with all phases of metal fabrication.

Project Engineering Design Manager

SUMMARY:

The Project Engineering Design Manager plays a key role in fulfilling various duties and responsibilities. They are to work closely with the project manager to create a comprehensive action plan concerning each projects design resources, material budgets, and timeframes.  This comprehensive action plan will be based off of communication with Project Manager who is coordinating and communicating directly with the customer.   Primary job is to ensure customer expectations and deadlines are met in regards to RFI submittals, drawing submittals, Bill of materials creation in adequate time for materials ordered and delivered in accordance with customer expectations.

  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.  
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.  
  • Coordinate current projects and team members to keep workflow on track
  • Coordinate internal project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and e-mails.  
  • Assist in developing the design of products (primarily sheet metal and tubing) using 3D computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting software. 
  • Communicate with Project Manager to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives. 
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. 
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. 
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. 
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. 
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification. 
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs. 
  • Estimate costs and timelines for engineering design projects.
  • Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects. 
  • Maintain Corporate as well as Engineering processes in regards to data entry and filings, software workflow, procedures. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This job is responsible for maintaining corporate commitments and goals.  This includes supervising the design staff in our construction division and to align with the construction division management goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Education : Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or university) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Knowledge of process improvement concepts is strongly preferred.
 

Experience : Three to seven years related experience. Experience with process improvement practices troubleshooting is preferred. Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and general tools is preferred.
 

Computer Skills 

3 – 5 years experience with any 3D modeling software, Solid Edge preferred. Sheet metal experience is required. Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software. Experience with ERP/workflow management software. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word and Excel) Experience with Procore Construction Management is a Plus.
