Isolation & Containment

Alternative Design has designed and built a variety of animal isolating and containment systems. Many have been custom designed for research of a particular species including poultry and various types of birds.

Tandem Air Unit

• Double Stacked Tandem Isolation Unit
• 304 stainless steel frame with large Polycarbonate or Lexan windows
• Includes both negative containment and positive isolation capability
• HEPA Filtered Supply and Exhaust
• Automatic water system with adjustable height drinker

6-Glove Port Animal Isolator

Standard features include:

  • Double-sided 6 glovebox with polyethylene rubber gloves to collect & process
  • Meets ABSL-3 level
  • 304 stainless steel frame with large polycarbonate windows
  • Includes both negative containment and positive isolation capability
  • HEPA filtration for both supply and exhaust

Nest Boxes

Standard features include:

  • Units are 15″ by 15″
  • Made from galvanized steel
  • Includes Trap door
  • Pitched roof with a higher backside
  • Two ends and four dividers with approximately six 1/2″ holes in each unit for bird ventilation
  • Includes built-in tabs on the back so the unit can be attached to the wall or wire for stability

Jack has managed flock vaccination and movement departments and provided technical service for ventilation, feeding programs and biosecurity programs to contract growers.  He has also been the Production Manager for a live production complex overseeing the feeding programs, service crews, bio-security,  and field service technicians.  In addition, he has overseen the design and construction of new poultry housing as well as the retrofitting of existing housing.
