Description
The Flex-Air 4-Cage P.I. Stationary Unit is designed to provide HEPA filtered air to mice that are being temporarily housed in a principal investigator’s lab, in quarantine, post surgery, or other areas outside the main animal housing room. This Flex-Air P.I. Unit uses the patented Flex-Air cages also used with the Flex-Air Positive/Negative Ventilated Caging System.
This Flex-Air P.I. Unit will operate in either positive pressure mode to provide isolation, or negative pressure to provide containment. The negative mode is suitable for temporarily housing mice under quarantine. The cages comply with NIH Guidelines for animal space. This stationary model supplies 30-40 air changes per hour (AC/H) to each of the cages.
Each Flex-Air P.I. Unit comes with a complete set of Flex-Air Polysulfone cages, cage top, wire bar lids, 16 oz. Reduced Height water bottles and cage card holders. The entire unit is autoclavable with the exception of the air handling unit, HEPA filters and air supply hose.
Stationary models can utilize battery back-up by adding a commercially available Universal Power Supply (UPS).
