Description
The Gentle-Air P.I. 24 Mouse Cage Mobile Unit provides HEPA filtered ventilated air to transport and/or temporarily house mice away from the primary animal housing area. The cart dimensions are 44.6″W x 28.7″D x 42.0″H.
The Gentle-Air P.I. Unit supplies positive pressure to the cages only. It delivers around 65-75 air changes per hour (AC/H) to each cage.
The cart is constructed of 304 stainless steel. It features a removable top shelf that serves as a work surface. It has 5″ casters, 2 with brakes. The entire cart and caging are autoclavable with the exception of the air handling unit, HEPA filters, and air supply hose.
It has an on-board battery for moving animals from one area to another. The battery features a transport and emergency mode selection feature. The battery lasts up to 24 hours in emergency mode. It is rechargeable. The unit comes with a 110-120 volt power cord.
Unit holds up to 24 Gentle-Air style cages with 12 cages per side. This model was designed specifically for Max 75 cages, made from Polysulfone (UD).

IMPORTANT: INITIAL CLEANING
All components of the Alternative Design stainless steel product must be cleaned, sanitized and sterilized, where applicable, prior to being put into service. This unit is made primarily of 304 stainless steel. Use care when cleaning to prevent corrosion that can shorten useful life. Cleaning solutions which contain high levels of chlorine are not recommended for stainless steel parts.
Caster Maintenance
Caster used on this equipment was chosen for its suitability in applications where frequent washdowns are necessary. It is also well suited for applications exposed to heat, cleaning agents, steam, caustic solutions or other corrosive agents, which could cause rust and contamination. After washing and/or autoclaving, check casters for proper operation. Check the axle nut to ensure it is still tight (125 inch/pound is recommended). If the axle and/or swivel bearing has to be lubricated, use a high temp grease.
Alternative Design offers a 5-year warranty on all stainless steel fabricated products the company makes. These products are warranted to be free from material and workmanship defects during this period.
